George Washington Socially Responsible Investment Fund

At GWSRIF, members will evaluate publicly traded companies based on a set of parameters detailing social responsibility and analyze their financial status in order to select and maintain a socially and ethically responsible investment portfolio. SRIF provides a platform of engagement for students interested in learning the basics of portfolio management, investing in the US stock market and teaching a hands on approach to the skills that future investment bankers and asset managers and will need. Further, the members of the Portfolio will adhere to investing the capital of the fund in accordance with the guidelines set forth in the Investment Parameters. In the long term, the group is to donate their yearly profits back to the GWSB in the form of a scholarship under the name of the donators in the endowment. Overall, the group looks to maintain a balance between profit and social responsibility, as well as a balance between faculty/advisor support and student autonomy as well as provide students with resources to help them achieve and excel in financial careers including investment banking, management consulting and ESG investing.
